
This post will be required to perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities in a
professional manner.
• Establishes, documents, and ensure compliance and accountability with technology standards and
procedures.
• Ensures staff maintains appropriate system documentation and change control for all systems.
• Verifies staff proactively monitors and tunes existing systems for optimal performance, security,
availability, and supportability.
• Ensures clear ownership and responsibility for platform components, configurations, and
operations.
• Establishes maintenance windows and procedures for all major systems.
• Makes certain team has primary and back up personnel appropriately trained.
• Ensures that consumer requests are handle in a timely, orderly, and prioritized fashion.
• Evaluates staff performance and makes recommendations for hiring, transferring, discharging, and
promoting staff.
• Prepares technical specifications for equipment and/or software bidding.
• Prepares weekly status/ planning reports to IT and County Management and conducts regular staff
meetings.
• Coordinates network and data center maintenance to minimize impacts to users, other technical
staff and to improve reliability and operational effectiveness.
• Oversees all data communications activities throughout county facilities.
• Supervises technical staff providing the following network services: line management, billing,
equipment installations, WAN, LAN.
• Oversees the configuration of all hardware and software related to networking, maintaining
appropriate documentation, change control, and configuration management.
• Orders and monitors the installation of data communications circuits for all County department.
• Provides project management for network or data center projects.
• Performs other work as required or necessary.
